
The Recycling Center at Kezar ECO Center started in 1974. Before there was public policy in place like the Bottle Bill or mandatory recycling, there were people who cared deeply about the environment and strove to make living in SF a little less wasteful. Now San Francisco boasts one of the highest recycling rates in the country at over 70%. Wow.
